POEM: "BRAZIL"

"Country with the largest forest on the planet: the Amazon
Country whose name means exotic wood / "Brazier"
Country which is the Heart of the five continents of the World

Country with 26 great states and a Federal District
The largest country in South America, and the most populated.

Founding member of the UN 
(Opening adress was made by Ambassador Oswaldo Aranha)
Country member of the G20 

Member of the Organization of American States
Member of the Portuguese Language
Country community 
Member of Union of Ibero-American States

Country whose flag has a Starry Sky


The colors of its flag mean:

Green represents the Royal House of Bragança, to which
belonged Pedro I, the first emperor

Yellow represents the Royal House of Austria, with whose
Austrian princess, Dom Pedro I married

Blue is the color of the sky of Rio de Janeiro, on the day of the coup
who installed the Republic in Brazil
Nov. 15, 1889, at 20h30minutes

In the sky, there are 27 stars, representing the nation's capital and the 26 States
The constellation is the Southern Cross

In the center of the sphere 
There is a white banner
with the inscription "Order and Progress"

The name of the Federative Republic of Brazil it's in the Constitution,
enacted in 1988,

And is the Sacred Heart
of God's Love


Brazil is a country of Peace and Solidarity
In Eternal Love


Brazil is the country of Freedom
Everyone can be welcomed home here
Brazil is the refreshment to the weary souls.

Brazil is a welcoming country
For us all


The eyes of the world respect and admire Brazil

That life may be eternally rich and smooth in Brazil

With God's protection."
