"HOPELESSNESS" Poem by Adama Konate

Poem: Hopelessness

by Adama Konate

The harvest is poor under the hot, relentless sun

Hunger takes a village without a grain silo by assault

Drought turns a bird margot into a carapace

The well only works in the great morning of luck

The great forest loses its herbs and fruits

The fauna lives in a miserable situation

The rain did not dampen the earth no more

The unhappy child has lost everything in the world

The trivial things become very hard and painful

The cash on hand disappeared.

The joy of going to work bumped into the bankruptcy of society

The last hope of the family fell on the ground

The unlucky child became unhappy

Without rain, the farmer is now unsure of its harvest

Without faith, how the lame would walk?

Without faith, how the poor would eat?

Without faith, how the husks would become an oasis?

Without faith, how the planted trees
would give good fruits and cool shadows?

Poverty is a burden.

Life is very difficult for the workers without hope.

Luck, now dead, cannot ensure future wealth.

Each one will have their part,
in quality and quantity,
in the time of the Lord's sharing.

"A hungry stomach has no ears."

The world must unite for peace and solidarity

Solidarity is the true force towards success

Why the people who need help do not have it?

Why the benefactors are the less fortunate?

Why does the creator of the world make some cry while others laugh?

With courage, everything is possible...

Even to achieve the unexpected
